Lady Miners Have Tough Schedule, But Many Returning Pieces

The Linton Lady Miners are set to start their season Tuesday when they take on Brownstown Central. Last season, the Lady Miners went 14-8 and fell to the Regional Champion North Knox Warriors to end their season.

Garrett Vandeventer is entering his 3rd season at the helm. He has an overall record of 23-21 so far. The Lady Miners do have several returning pieces from leading spots.

Jaycee Archer last season lee the team in scoring with 15.9 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. Audrey Sullivan will be another name you hear quite a bit as she was the 2nd leading scorer with 11.6 points per game. Sullivan led the team with 2.6 steals per game as well.

Schedule wise, the Lady Miners open up with Brownstown Central, West Washington, and North Knox. Other tough, out of conference, opponents include South Knox, Owen Valley, and Bloomington North and South.

On paper, the Miners may finish slightly above .500, but they have the potential to make a run, but it all depends on some ping pong balls.
