Shakamak Lady Lakers Prepare to Start Season

The Shakamak Lakers are preparing for their season opener on Tuesday when they travel to Vincennes Rivet.

Last season, the Lakers defeated Vincennes Rivet and went 13-10 on the season, falling to White River Valley in the Sectional Championship. Several key players have graduated from the program and this year will be one where a prediction may not be viable.

Looking at their first few matchups, Shakamak travels to Rivet to face a team that suffered their first under .500 season in almost 20 years, faces a West Vigo ball club that has struggled for a few seasons, and then takes on Covenant Christian in the Heritage Environmental Tip Off Classic.

Outside of conference action, Shakamak only faces a couple of tough matchups with Owen Valley, Sullivan, and Vincennes Lincoln.

Shakamak can be a ball club that is over .500, but they will have a tough sectional. That prediction is based off schedule strength.
